Submission Rules
The Nozstock Cinetent accepts fictional, documentary and experimental features, short films, music videos and children’s films. These will be screened as par t of Nozstock: The Hidden Valley over the weekend of 27-29th July 2012. Contributors to Nozstock’s homegrown shorts programme range from professional filmmakers to first attempt amateurs, the only specific criteria for qualification being that films are based around a strong original concept.
Nozstock will consider family-friendly feature films for daytime screenings. Otherwise a maximum running time of 30 minutes per film is specified.
This is not a competitive festival, however your work stands to be seen by 5000 visitors. There is no submission fee. Films are non-returnable.
Submission Deadline
Submissions will be accepted from 1 January 2012. The final deadline is 7 May 2012.

Submission Format
Films should be submitted PAL format as standard definition .MOV or .AVI ideally (though DVD is also acceptable) and should include a brief synopsis, submission form, 2 production stills and relevant information and contacts regarding the filmmaker/s.
Shipping Costs
All shipping and postage costs to and from the festival must be borne by the submitting party, including those for the submission package and, if the film is selected, for all prints, tapes and additional materials sent to and returned from Nozstock. Nozstock will not accept Cash On Delivery shipments and will not absorb any fees incurred in British customs. All charges must be pre-paid. Nozstock will not accept submissions if customs and delivery fees have not been paid by the Submitting Party. Submission packages from outside the UK must be labelled ‘Trade Sample’ on any customs label and, for customs purpose, must be given a value of no more than UK£10.
Selection of Films
Submissions are reviewed and selected under the following criteria:
– Quality of narrative and production values
– Independent nature of the production
– Limitations and availability of screening slots
– Availability of film rights for distribution
Nozstock endeavours to complete all selection procedures by 28 May 2012 and inform all Submitting Parties, via email, if their film has been successful or not at that time. Successful submissions will receive correspondence that their film has been selected.
