During the build up last year, when Shane Dixon managed to pin himself to the Trojan Horse with a compressed air pin gun. Classic.

What are you most looking forward to at Noz’13?
Sunday night!

What was your favourite festival moment of Nozstocks past?
ArtWank in 2012. Ophelia Bitz, the host of our fabulous cabaret, brought her one woman show, vintage porn show to the Bantam of the Opera theatre stage. I laughed and cringed and it was bloody brilliant. 

What’s your top tip for surviving the festival?
Glamping is definitely the way. Get all your necessities in miniature, battery powered fairy lights, sparkly things and a good air mattress.

The funniest thing you’ve seen at Nozstock was…
Random fun and games with Neil on the bandstand ‘Ow! What’s wrong with you’ where the audience come on stage to confess their quirks and defects. Last year a man actually took his legs off!!

What are you most looking forward to at Noz’13?
Obviously, the Velveteen Valley cabarets. This year is absolutely going to be the most fabulous ever and there are a few surprises in store.  Also, can’t wait to see The Strypes. This is definitely one not to miss. 

Random interesting fact…
I’m too important to be able to tolerate wheat. 

There is nothing we love more than a good line up announcement here at The Hidden Valley and this one’s a bit of a corker, if we do say so ourselves. Nozstock’s longest running stage, The Garden Stage, has released its first crop of acts for 2013, with supreme selector Mr Scruff and international party starter DJ Yoda topping the bill. They are joined by King Porter Stomp, Sonny Wharton, By The Rivers, More Like Trees and Gypsy Unit to name but a few.  It doesn’t end there though; underground pioneer Kasra and award winning D.J, S.P.Y are joining possibly the best Cubicles line up ever. It’s not just the musical stages getting in on the action. For those on a quest for culture, The Tent of Temporary Thought have booked the cream of the U.Ks poetic talent, alongside some thought provoking talks by Dr Aubrey De Grey. All this plus cart rides, willow weaving and learning basic blacksmithing skills in the craft area. We feel quite dizzy with excitement…

Those people from The Enchanted Glade Kids Area are a pleasant lot. They have just announced the first nuggets of interactive family entertainment on offer this year. In a friendly, welcoming environment for both parents and little ‘uns alike, all are welcome to get creative, be amazed or roll your sleeves up for some physical fun. We have something for every age, including a brand new preschool area and storytelling for mini Nozstockers all the way up to Totem Pole workshops and headdresses for the more industrious amongst you!

With bewitching theatre and interactive workshops, the Bantam of the Opera Stage has grown into a forum for engaging performance and experimentation. This year we are looking to commission a brand new piece of theatre especially for the daytime programme. It could be new writing, puppetry or physical theatre, as long as it’s fun, innovative or eccentric we want to hear about it! Shows will be pre watershed and should be between 30 and 60 minutes duration. Nozstock will provide a fee, crew and of course tickets to the event. Its finally here Nozzers, our first official Orchard Stage line up announcement! We’ve been hard at work picking the finest in musical talent to fill your favourite weekend, from acoustic to techno, drum n bass to reggae, rockney to mod- we’ve got everything you could possibly dream of. Look out for next big thing The Strypes, the legendary Chas n Dave, Americana’s own Bhi Bhiman, summer-loving Dub Pistols, ska movement spearheads The Beat, dancehall’s Ava Leigh, Exeter’s finest The Computers and kooky mash-up Velvet Stream. And this is only the beginning! Watch this space as there are plenty more to come…

Since the dawn of Nozstock, drum and bass has been a huge part of the festival and we’re insanely excited to announce the legendary RAM Records Takeover in The Cubicles on Saturday night. The Godfather of electronic music Andy C’s very own production house are famed for selecting the finest in upcoming bass talent and transforming them into global phenomenon’s, packing out the biggest club nights around the world for you bass-facing pleasure. Expect a Saturday night of sets from Wilkinson, Loadstar, Loko, MC Visionobi and of course, Andy C and GQ. Hype, hype, hype!

If there’s one thing that would make your Noz experience that little bit snugger, it would be having a non-soggy sleeping bag and no muddy footprints on the tent ceiling from the previous weekend (don’t ask). If this sounds like your festival wish list, then you need to book yourself in for some cosy camping.
